Jo Walls

 

Jo is an artist who grew up in the rural Essex countryside, lived in London for many years and now resides in Hertfordshire. Originally trained in animation at Bournemouth she then undertook postgraduate studies at Central St Martin’s College of Art and Design in London.

Jo enjoys working with a variety of mediums. She often creates ceramic and mixed media pieces with unique patinas using an array of pigments, paints and powders. As well as fabricating and welding steel sculpture.

The distinctive style of Jo’s work ranges from her popular mixed media bots to more contemplative pieces such as her series of skyward characters and reoccurring theme of sentinels.

She has exhibited widely around the South East including at Savill Garden, Chelsea Art Society, RHS Wisley, RHS Hyde Hall, Orleans House Gallery, Landmark Arts and the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, with work in private collections around the UK.
